You must be at least 18 years of age. Study the pre-licensing materials. Register and pay for your licensing exam.
2. Pass the Texas insurance license exam
Bring government issued ID to the exam. ID must have a current picture and signature and the name must match exactly the name used to register for the exam.
You must score 70% or better to pass the exam. A passing score is valid for 1 year.
3. Complete the license application
You must complete the license application and pay the license application fee. All Texas resident applications must include fingerprints or receipt of fingerprinting with the appropriate agency.
